Professional Bio

Alexis Chesney MS, ND, LAc is a naturopathic physician, licensed acupuncturist, author, and educator specializing in Lyme disease and other complex chronic illnesses. Since 2010, Dr. Chesney has worked with patients of all ages, focusing on chronic disease, general wellness, nutrition, and lifestyle counseling. That same year, she began advanced training in Lyme and vector-borne diseases with pioneer Richard Horowitz, MD, and has since dedicated her practice to conditions including Lyme and other tick-borne diseases, mold toxicity, mast cell activation syndrome, and dysautonomia.

Dr. Chesney maintains a telehealth private practice and consulting business and is on staff at Sojourns Community Health Clinic in Vermont. She is licensed as a naturopathic physician in Vermont, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts, and as an acupuncturist in Vermont and Georgia.

She is the author of Preventing Lyme & Other Tick-Borne Diseases (Storey Publishing, 2020) and speaks widely on tick-borne disease prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. Her leadership includes past service on the ILADS Board and ongoing mentorship as a preceptor with the ILADEF Physician Training Program. Dr. Chesney has trained extensively in mold toxicity and CIRS and holds Mold-Literate Certification.

Originally from New York, she earned her BA from Holy Cross College, a Master of Science in Acupuncture, and a doctorate in naturopathic medicine from the University of Bridgeport.
